Detailed Itinerary

DAY 1: Arrive in Phnom Penh

Upon arrival at Phnom Penh International Airport, our driver and tour guide will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel. Check-in and take a short break.

You will begin your Angkor 9 days tour with a visit to the major landmarks of The Royal Palace, Chan Chaya Pavilion, The Silver Pagoda, The National Museum, the Independence Monument, and Wat Phnom Daun Penh.

DAY 2: Phnom Penh – Chisor – Tonlé Bati – Phnom Penh
Breakfast & Lunch

Breakfast at your hotel.

Drive south of Phnom Penh to the shores of Tonlé Bati Lake to visit an Angkorian temple of Ta Prohm (built in the 12th century) and the temple of the Black Madonna.

Then, climb to the top of Phnom Chisor, a Brahmin holy place dedicated to Suryagiri ( built in the 11th century) to admire a panoramic view of the rice-growing plains.

Lunch at a local restaurant and return to Phnom Penh.

DAY 3: Phnom Penh – Oudong – Battambang
Breakfast

After breakfast, you continue your Angkor Wat tour with a journey to Pursat.

Along the way, visit the royal city of Oudong, which was several times considered to be the capital between 1618 and 186. Then, stop at the pottery villages around Kampong Chhang, located at the junction of Tonlé Sap Lake. Free lunch at a local restaurant in Pursat.

In the afternoon, you will take a boat to the floating village of Kompong Luong. Then, depart for Battambang through the fertile rice plains of western Cambodia.

Overnight in Battambang.

Option: In the evening, you can attend the circuit show presented by the music and circus school “Phare Ponleu Selpak”. This show highlights the traditional and modern culture of Cambodia.

DAY 4: Visit Battambang
Breakfast

Having breakfast at the hotel before visiting the traditional house Phum Wat Kor and Wat Ek Phnom (built in the 11th century). On the way back, visit Wat Slaket, the residence of a Buddhist patriarch.

In the afternoon, you will board a 20-minute bamboo train, traveling the countryside on a railway built by the French.

DAY 5: Battambang – Siem Reap
Breakfast & Dinner

The 5th day of your Angkor 9 days tour will begin after your breakfast at the hotel. Our driver will pick you up and move to a quay for a cruise boat trip (6 to 7 hours) along the Sangker River to Siem Reap.

Explore the floating villages on excursions and the Prek Toal Biosphere, home to an important sanctuary for migratory birds. Then, you will cross the Tonlé Sap Lake to the fishing village of Chong Kneas.

DAY 6: Angkor Wat tour
Breakfast & Dinner

Breakfast at your hotel.

Start your Angkor Wat tour by visiting the Preah Ko, built by Indravarman I at the end of the 9th century; Bakong, the most important and interesting temple of the Roluos group, with a Buddhist monastery located to the north of the east entrance; and Banteay Srei (Citadel of Women), dedicated to Shiva and whose architecture and sculptures in pink sandstone bear a stunning range of sculptures.

Then, transfer to Banteay Srame and enjoy dinner while watching the Apsara dance performance.

DAY 7: Angkor Wat tour
Breakfast

On this day, you will visit the eastern Mebon in the morning. The temple has stone elephant statues with safety belts. Check out Pré Rup, a mountain temple with five square sanctuaries, Neak Pean – a pool for purification rituals, and Preah Khan – a large city of temples where you might get lost.

Then, visit Kravan, a small Brahmin temple with brick carvings in the afternoon. There is the Sras Srang – a large basin of 800m x 400m which once served as a swimming pool; Banteay Kdei – a former Buddhist monastery, Takeo which stands out for its tranquility, and the Ta Prohm temple with a good mix of architecture and tropical nature.

DAY 8: Visit Angkor Thom
Breakfast

After breakfast at the hotel, you will visit the west gate of Angkor Thom and Bayon – a beautiful mountain temple. We will then explore the Baphuon, a monumental site of the former French School of the Far East. Next, visit Baksei Chamkrong, the Terrace of the Elephants, where the king and his court attended the processions. Then the terrace of the Leper King.

Visit Angkor Wat, a majestic “mountain temple” built by King Suryavarman II in the 12th century with concentric encirclement and carved decoration. You can also watch the sunset from Bahkeng Hill.

DAY 9: Siem Reap – Departure
